01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Midnight Spaghetti pairs plenty of squid with a mildly spicy garlic-tomato soup. Because it is served as a soup pasta, the meal can continue after the noodles are gone: dip bread into the broth or savour the soup to the last spoonful. Diners who came especially for the dish have said it lived up to expectations; one reviewer particularly enjoyed finishing the soup and dipping bread into it.
At il Chianti’s Sasazuka flagship, the Caribbean Salad is a good option if you want a generous helping of seafood. Mussels, clams, prawns, squid and scallops come with vegetables, dressed with the restaurant’s original grated-vegetable dressing, which is low in acidity. Several diners have praised the dressing, and some say the salad itself is a reason to visit.
At lunch, diners have enjoyed the salad and dressing served with a fresh-pasta set, along with the noodles’ pleasantly chewy texture. For dinner, you could share appetizers such as tuna tartare with spring onions, served on bread, or soft-shell crab that can be eaten whole, shell and all. There are plenty of options beyond spaghetti.
